Apparently the energy needed to produce the radio waves exceeded the energy obtained from the reaction. They claim the process is a net energy loser.

I wish I saved the linksSweating Through foghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07138602196953744517noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17150866.post-13786091633965379912007-10-08T20:29:00.000-04:002007-10-08T20:29:00.000-04:00I sho' hope this is true. I would be interested in seeing what else you find out about the saltwater-as-an-energy-source deal. I am going to spend some time checking out your blog and past posts. I certainly will leave my opinion. Blog more frequently--you are very interesting!
Love,
Babz
www.lovebabz.blogspot.comBabz Rawls Ivyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04059921674059371076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17150866.post-47144836498728514292007-09-17T22:10:00.000-04:002007-09-17T22:10:00.000-04:00Hey DEATHSWEEP-Yup - it will all come down to plai...Hey DEATHSWEEP-

Yup - it will all come down to plain old money. Most of the articles I'm reading on this have these little qualifiers like, "the use of saltwater as a fuel is still not completely practical..." And, I'm thinking - DARN, can we just give it a chance before we start lining up behind the concerns of Big Oil. A discovery like this will clearly change the world economy completely, and the richest and most powerful people will stop at nothing to protect their wealth!

This makes me think about a cancer cure uncovered about 20 years ago. It had something to do with a chemical extract from apricott seeds. There was this one doctor that was using it on his patients with great success, but the American Cancer Society did all they could to bury this guy. They got his license taken and basically crushed him. So, I'd have to be a fool to think that the oil powerbase in this world would let this saltwater thing progress. In six months we won't be able to find anything about it on google.

-Sad.

Hello ANALI! How are you?!?!
I thought about this and I figured we'd be fairly safe with the beaches and all. Considering how small the worlds oil fields are and the drillable oil life span is estimated between another 175 to 300 years. I figure the available salt water on the earth would last 100's of thousands of years [that is my humblest of opinions] but, I doubt if we'll ever have to worry about that. Big Oil is going to bury this guy.The Thinking Black Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04618989261377257387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17150866.post-59162908050459853952007-09-15T02:10:00.000-04:002007-09-15T02:10:00.000-04:00Interesting, but it makes me wonder what would hap...Interesting, but it makes me wonder what would happen to beaches? Would they all be closed, so that the salt water can be taken? No more swimming and lounging by the sea. And could we use up too much of the salt water eventually?Lisa Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08096947438461486505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17150866.post-10945347556602642662007-09-13T16:03:00.000-04:002007-09-13T16:03:00.000-04:00Hi TTBM! Perhaps the Oil companies would be happy to purchase the pumping rights as well as the rights to resell it. The next thing though would be a war over who owned the seas. Let's face it, it doesn't matter what it is that makes our machinery work be it oil or gold flakes...or water...we will pay for it. Would these companies as well as governments not see the benefit of simply changing what's on the shelf? Just providing a different filler for the pumps? Before man found that oil could be refined and sold as a fuel it was just worthless goo. Why not just change the product. Someone would have to pump it and do whatever it takes to make it burn, same as they do with oil. It's a shame it all comes down to dollars and cents. Great post and please keep us all informed! Hope something comes of it!

DSdeathsweephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04942097009456195845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17150866.post-79056321273497329782007-09-12T12:03:00.000-04:002007-09-12T12:03:00.000-04:00Hey GEM 2001, how are you?I think this would elimi...Hey GEM 2001, how are you?

I think this would eliminate global warming because there would be no harmful exhaust, no smoke, no chemicals no anything. And those are the stings that create the global warming.

And yeah, sadly I agree that the oil companies would shut this thing down so quick we may NEVER see it surface again! If this power source could be harnessed [other articles said that a 3000 degree flame is produced with ease] EVERYTHING could run on salt water... cars, planes, factories, boats, power plants - the list is endless and all without deadly smoke and gases. It's too good to be true.

Hey LIZ!

I'm excited over this! Not for me per se - but for my kids and potential grand kids! But I'm a realist, and I know this is going to be buried in the muck this time next year.
